Job Title: Custodian/Groundskeeper (Part-Time)

Location: LaMarr Civic Center, Eufaula, AL

Salary: $12 p/hr.

Experience: At least 3 years’ experience as a custodian

Education: A minimum of a high school diploma

Overall Description: Under the direction of the owners, Event Manager, and Assistant Event Manager, perform the full range of custodial duties as they relate to the care, maintenance and cleaning of assigned buildings and facilities.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture and dusting surfaces
• Sweep and mop floors, vacuum carpets
• Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and restock disposables
• Wipe mirrors and windows
• Maintain outer premises by watering plants, mowing lawn, cleaning entrances
• Utilize insecticides to prevent infestation by dangerous pests
• Perform maintenance and minor repairs (replacing broken switches, fixing door handles, minor leaks etc.)
• Report major damages to management and oversee repairs
• Secure facilities after operating hours by locking doors, closing windows and setting up the alarm
• Ensure all walkways, driveways, parking areas, and steps are in order and clear of any debris to maintain a clear path and secure footing
• Setup event rooms

Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role
• Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
• Familiarity with basic landscaping and handyman practices
• Attention to detail and conscientiousness
• Very good physical condition and strength
• Varied work hours are a requirement for this position to support various events.
